Doepfer a-119. Maybe not the coolest module on the market. But i have plans for this little friend. Bought it used. Sampling the afm (advanced fm) operators of yamaha sy99 synthesizer. My purpose was to recreate the waveform shapes mathematically in serum formula parser.

I created this using digital synthesizers. I lost the presets to this so i can't say exactly how it was created, but eventually i'll create a new version and describe the process. It's basically multiple layers of very grainy (like sparklers or vinyl) noise processed through filters modulated by some kind of noise.

This is a variation of the loop: 005 from the mitosis pack. The odd bass sound (or melody) is the result of tweaking too much with the modulation.

Ambience of flowing water or heavy rain. Created with the korg electribe 2 using various white noise sources. These are filtered, the filters itself are modulated by a random modulation. Post-processing was done in cubase.

Cross fm modulated filters performing a painful dance on your eardrums. This is noise but with a musical and rhythmic trace. I keep coming back to my vcfs…?.

The wolves howl under the moon at night. Synthesizer used: v-station, 3 sine vcos, filter: just a little bit resonance, pitch modulation with lfos and wheel, eq and delay.

Cool sounds from filter. The two filters filter a tri-wave. The filters are almost self oscillating and are modulated by an lfo. Natural tones. And some spring reverb and analog delay.

Its a sine wave folded 4 times by a cgs inspired wavefolder module (kinda like the metalizer from the minibrute). The whole thing is then modulated with an external function generator that controls amount and frequency of modulation. This is what came out and it's pure junky drone noises, so goddamn nasty. Absolutely love them. Feel completely free to sample this and use it for your own purposes. This is a diy synthesizer i'm building and unfortunately it is still a prototype, but i'm gonna finish it soon and hope to sell it. Cool indeed, isn't it?.

Released in 1989, the ensoniq vfx synthesizer was ensoniq's early take on wavetables, called transwaves in ensoniqs' perlance. The machine was a digital six oscillator hybrid rompler and additive with several of the waveforms being wavetables. Modulation settings allowed you to scan thru the waveforms for evolving sounds such as this pad. The vfx-sd was much the same synthesizer, but added a sequencer.

Had a short relaxing session with my modular. I wanted to use the "divide by 64" patch and make some generative sounds/music. I added some mixer feedback. This is a patch for 2 voices.

The mitosis pack contains several loops with melodies. I removed the modulation and let the bass run without changing a pitch for this loop. See also loops 005 and 6.

Chaotic resonances that soon falls into more and more chaotic behavior. Quite a smooth chaotic noise sound. Made from 2 sine oscillator frequency modulating each other and some variable controls. Programmed in chuck programming language.

I use a screenreader, nvda. I decided to set it to the eti eloquence speech synthesizer and put the voice on the french voice. I then set the inflection to 50 and typed the letters "r" and "h" over and over to make it sound funny when it tries to read it. The first part is the normal voice, the second part i applied ring modulation with lots of lfo effect.

The sound is generated by self oscillating vcfs. I love sinus wave. I will sell my triple oscillator now. It does not have sinus wave! the randomness is generated to old fashion way. I don't have any fancy random trigger modules. Bla bla bla. . . I stop there.

Done by sound forge fm synthesizer. Basically four added sine waves, each has some percentage of self-modulation(feedback). The sound effects chain applied over the initial sound is: reverb, chorus, upward compression(sound forge wave hammer), pitch shift(down) and finally vibrato, to simulate a varying speed tape machine.

Single note sampled from a deckard's dream diy analogue synthesizer that i built myself. Deckard's dream (ddrm) is an 8-voice analogue synthesizer designed by black corporation and inspired in the classic yamaha cs-80. The ddrm (and cs-80) is all about live performance and expressiveness via aftertouch and modulations. Therefore, sampling the notes like i did here does not make much sense and by no means makes justice to the real thing. Nevertheless, i thought it could still be useful and would be nice to share. Test of how uoki-toki polivoks vcf handles sin-wave. I tune the module i use as sin-oscillator (intellijel μvcf) to ca 270hz. I connect it to uoki-toki polivoks vcf. I let a sin lfo sweep the filter, cv1 pot at ca 70%.

It becomes clear when i record with audacity and can actually see the attack and decay. I’m playing with alm pip slope. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

Bartonmusicalcircuits 2lfosh (bmc 017). Manual wiggling. First it acts like a sample and hold and lfo. S/h connected to a vco and the lfo to a filter. Then i'm testing the lfos. After that you hear the two oscillators. Great module. 3 in one. Lfo, sample and hold and oscillators. Square, triangle wave and a mixed waveform!.

Robotic voice effect using a en:vocoder. This effect is often found in film and television productions. For the technically minded, the voice is modulating a 110Hz en:sawtooth wave, which is the note A two octaves below en:A440. There is also some en:reverberation and phasing added. Acid bass: 110 bpm c2 note, not your typical saw/square basslines. High sweeping filters in parallel with lfo routed to certin parts sampled in ableton using massive, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random presets, and very little other effects used, mostly so this sample can be re-sampled. 110 bpm so it can be pitched up which is usually better then having to pitch samples down. Test of how uoki-toki polivoks vcf handles sin-wave (ca 270hz) when the filter is self-oscillating. I bring the uoki-toki polivoks vcf to self-oscillation and tune the vcf to ca 270hz too. The vco is also tuned to 270hz. In this test i connect the same lfo to cv1 on the vcf and 1v/oct on the module i use as vco (intellijel μvcf). I let the lfo run. Cv1 on vcf pot at 100%. They are playing together. The vco is connected to the in on the vcf. Confused explanation. . . But at least not in swedish.
